Seven seconds...

MI6s team of enhanced individuals have followed Teddy Machin to the Blind Beggar public house and have discovered that he was meeting with seven other enhanced individuals. Hoping to follow and capture them individually, Mimi is spotted and the gang have started killing innocent bystanders. MI6s team consists of Alfie Baldrick, the one man rifle section; Mimi Dubois, maîtresse of skills; Madeline Forsyth, the living shadow; and Sven Hyse, the Norwegian shapeshifter.

London, England, August 1948

Sven's finger tightens on the trigger of his rifle and the distinctive whip crack sound of a gunshot echoes around Whitechapel Road. The bullet flies true and Sammy Ross' head explodes in a cloud of blood and grey matter. The rest of the gang are shocked by the sudden, unexpected turn of events and one of them spots the barrel of Sven's rifle on the flat roof across the street. He shouts out;

He's on the roof! Get him!

There is a sudden burst of small arms fire directed towards Sven's location, but the Norweigian sniper is well protected by the low wall running around the edge of the building. Corporals Alfie and Charlie Baldrick both draw their pistols and climb out of the car, bracing their guns on the top of the car doors preparing to return fire. Madeline takes advantage of the commotion to slide quickly across the road heading towards the now burning Blind Beggar hoping to save as many of the public inside as she can. Spotting Frankie Fraser within the group of gangsters I push out with my enhanced senses and make contact with his mind.

Sven grabs his rifle and rolls away from the edge of the roofs parapet, and by the time that he has completed two barrel rolls a large black panther is crouched upon the rooftop ready to pounce to another location. Jack 'Spot' Comer, wreathed in flames, and Big Alfie, transformed into a living bronze statue, head slowly towards our car flanked by a pair of gun toting gang members. Alfie and Charlie shout simultainiously, and in the same voice;

Halt! Stick your hands up!

The firey Comer flings his hand in the direction of Alfie and a gout of flame bursts in his direction, but the one man rifle section is protected by the door of the car and the conflagration only singes him. With a better angle of sight, one of the gunmen hits Alfie with a pistol shot but the bullet richochets off of his enhanced armoured suit. Having made contact with Fraser's mind I borrow his enhanced power and look down as my skin thickens and hardens as his enhanced armoured skin presents itself in me. But as I watch, the colours around me fade slightly and I can only see in monochrome. More evidence that the newly enhanced seem to have linked issues with their enhancements.

The sound of handguns rings out, echoing from the surrounding buildings, and both Alfie and Charlie feel bullets deflect from their armour. Alfie is forced to duck back behind the safety of the car door as another lance of flame leaps from Jack Comer towards him. Alfie returns fire at Comer with his Browning and hits the flaming gangster square in the chest three times. Even with his enhanced powers, that is more than Comer can take and he drops to the ground as his fire dies. Not wanting to be outdone, Charlie targets one of the gun toting gangsters and puts three bullets into him. The criminal drops bleeding to the floor. Crouched low in the back of our car I push out with my senses and make contact with the enhanced criminal that had spotted me earlier and sparked the current disastrous situation, I push hard and make contact with his mind.

Having seen his ally dropped by Alfie, Lucky Tel Hogan takes one step forwards and slaps his hands hard together in the direction of Alfie. A wave of solid sound rips straight at the prime Baldrick and tears the car door in half, but fortunately for Alfie the door taking the majority of the sonic blast saved him. Alfie returns fire but sees all three of his shots fly wide of the mark, his duplicate Charlie fairs better and hits Lucky Tel once, the enhanced criminal staggers but does not go down. As the rest of the gang turn on the two Baldricks and start shooting wildly in their direction, Sven stalks into a new position at the edge of the roof and begins to transform back into his human form. Big Alfie closes the distance to Corporal Baldrick and smashes and massive uppercut into his midriff, Alfie Baldrick is lifted off of his feet by the punch but his armour stops the damage from injuring him.

Having connected with the gang member I borrow his enhanced strength and feel my own muscles bulge beneath my skin. Madeline slides under the door of the brewery in the hope of opening the adjoining door and rescuing those trapped inside the burning Blind Beggar public house. She discovers that the night security guard has already opened the door and is guiding people through into the relative safety of the brewery and so she starts to transform from her shadow form back into her solid self.

Having borrowed the powers of those that we are facing I step out of the car and rush up to Alfie's side and swing hard at Big Alfie, but the large bronze gangster is quick on his feet and dodges my wild attack. He punches me back but it deflects off of my newly enhanced armoured skin. Both Alfie and Charlie return fire at the gangsters and both of them drop a gang member each. More bullets fly in their direction, but none of them penetrate their armour.

Having taken up position and sighted his target, Sven exhales and gently squeezes the trigger. The bullet's aim is true and the gang member with enhanced strength drops forwards onto his knees and then topples face down on the ground, a large hole in the back of his skull. Alfie fires once again at Lucky Tel Hogan and this time hits him three times, Terry Hogan drops to the floor. The gangsters continue to fire at the area around our car and this time Alfie is winged by one of the many bullets flying. Big Alfie and I trade blows again, but I can't hit him and his blows just bounce off of my enhanced armour.

The overweight man walking with the criminals throws his arms in Alfie's direction, even through he is more than twenty foot away, his doughy like arms stretch all of the way and wrap them selves around the prime Baldrick entangling him. At the same time Teddy Machin floats in his air form over Charlie and envelopes him. His ethereal body starts to spin like a tornado tearing the air from Charlie's lungs. Charlie tries to shoot at Machin, but the bullets just pass right through his air like body. Madeline slides the bolts open on the brewery door and opens it slightly looking out onto the scene beyond, as she does so she draws her pistol.

Frankie Fraser steps up to the breathless Charlie and jabs his straightened fingers at him, from Charlie's point of view it looks like the fingers are vibrating at a phenomenal speed, and he is relieved to see Fraser miss his attack. Charlie ejects the clip from his gun and fast-draws a spare clip from his belt before slamming it into his gun. He then shoots Fraser point blank in his chest three times. He is dismayed to see all three shots deflect off of Frankie's body. Big Alfie throws a punch at me but misses, I flail twice at him with a wild attack, he manages to dodge the first of my fists but the second catches him clean and he staggers backwards, surprised at the power behind my punch. Madeline steps out onto the street with her gun raised, pointing at the back of the nearest gang member, only seven seconds have passed since Sven pulled the trigger for the first time.
